Groton, MA – On the nicest spring day to date -- and as their final term winds down -- LA seniors are soaking up their last few moments on campus, from basking in the sun on the Quad to enjoying a pizza party hosted by the College Counseling office in MacNeil Lounge.
A few seniors shared their thoughts on the changes they’re about to undertake as they milled about the room, coveted slices of pizza in hand.
Jack Templeton ’16 says he is excited about the academic programs offered at the University of Vermont.
“They have really good environmental science programs, so I’m looking forward to that," says Jack. "Also, they have Astronomy; I’m probably going to minor in Astronomy.”
But, he adds, “[I’ll] definitely miss my friends.”
Fellow senior Asia Winslow shared her more immedgiate plans.
“[I’m] volunteering at the Mariposa Foundation this summer," she explains of her pre-college summer. "I really like being with the girls [at the Foundation]; it’s like a place I’ve always felt at home, so I consider that my second home.
"It’s going to be weird not being here at LA, but it’ll be good," she adds. "[I’ll miss] the campus, it’s a really pretty campus, it’s very safe...and you know everyone, so I like that.”
Congratulations and good luck to the entire Class of 2016 as they enter their final days as LA students!
