Groton, MA – Get ready to bid high, because the Stop Hunger Now Dunk Tank may be your best chance to see some of your favorite faculty members (plus student body President Josh Garber) take the plunge during LA's Field Day this Friday.
“In a kind of twist we’re silent auctioning what’s called the first dunk, so you can claim the honor to be the first person to dunk Head of School Dan Scheibe, or the first person to dunk Mrs. Margraf, Dean of Students,” says a smiling Mrs. Poulin, who, along with several students, can be seen manning the project's table at lunch this week.
“Then [for example] Mrs. Margraf will sit in the tank for another five minutes and people can pay cash to throw like three balls, and it all goes to packaged meals. We usually run our meal packaging event in January; we package 10,000 or more meals. If we raise more than $3,000, we’re packing more than 10,000 meals.”
So start warming up your throwing arms and bring your wallets, LA community: by making a difference through good fun and hilarity, this event promises to be a true slam dunk.
