That is because both teachers have their own class web pages (using a course management system called Moodle) that are used not only for posting information such as syllabi and assignments but also for online discussions and posting to glossaries. For example, each week students in Ms. Grinnell's classes are expected to participate in French in online discussion groups. Ms. Bowley's students are creating their own dictionary/glossary by defining the word and showing it in a communicative context. In addition, students connect to authentic web sites to interact with the culture and in the language.
