Parents' Association

Annual Spring Social & Fundraiser

Our active Parents' Association is led by an executive board, composed of approximately 30 families representing both boarding and day students. There are many volunteer opportunities throughout the year and each of these provides a fun vehicle for meeting other parents and staying in touch with what is going on at LA.

All current parents are automatically members of our Parents' Association (PA), which has a four-fold mission: to promote a sense of community among parents, students, faculty, and administration; to drive fundraising efforts; to assist with parent-organized events, and to help educate parents about Lawrence Academy.

Current parents should sign in and take advantage of the features on Veracross and the information on The Page.

(If you have more than one LA student please list them here separated by commas)

Admissions Ambassador volunteers assist the LA admissions staff by virtually greeting potential new families, virtually attending Open Houses and receptions, and by making phone calls to welcome new parents. No pressure to do it all – just choose which opportunities fit your schedule when requests are sent out. Come join this vibrant group!
Select one or more of the following opportunities.
Offer welcome, support and general information over the phone from the comfort of your own home! Make follow-up phone calls to accepted/undecided and enrolled families. This is a great volunteer opportunity for boarding and day parents who can't get to campus often, but would like to stay involved (March & August).
Greet families during our Open Houses, Special Events, and Revisit Days on campus.
Lawrence Academy is a welcoming community that recognizes all individuals for who they are and inspires them to take responsibility for who they want to become. We acknowledge that in order to do this well, we must create space for all students to be heard, seen and cared for and to be fully recognized both as themselves and as members of the LA community. Lawrence Academy Mentorship Program (L.A.M.P.) is designed as a space to provide support for students and families who self-identify as underrepresented.
Each spring the Parents’ Association organizes a social event. This event is an opportunity for all parents in the Lawrence Academy community to enjoy a fun and social spring evening. It’s a great way to get to know other Lawrence Academy families and have fun at the same time. We need lots of help with planning. Please be sure to join us for the event on May 8!
Philanthropic support ensures that LA has the resources it needs to continue providing mission-driven excellence. Each year, a group of Lawrence Academy Parents works together to raise unrestricted support for the LA Fund to help close the gap between tuition and the actual cost of an LA education. Parent volunteers, in conjunction with the Development Office, work together to meet the Parent Fund goal. Parent energy and commitment are critical to the schools identity and success.
In February, parents work together to create a way to say "Thank you!" to the devoted LA faculty and staff. Parent volunteers are needed to help arrange and facilitate. This is sponsored by the Parents’ Association and always draws a large number of volunteers who wish to show their gratitude.
Following the Saturday night performance of some of the school’s theatre productions, parents help by bringing special treats on the night of a reception.
Every December the Parents’ Association hosts a holiday party for the entire Parent community - this year we'll be creative as we design our plan for holiday fun.
