Parents' Association

Annual Spring Social & Fundraiser

Our active Parents' Association is led by an executive board, composed of approximately 30 families representing both boarding and day students. There are many volunteer opportunities throughout the year and each of these provides a fun vehicle for meeting other parents and staying in touch with what is going on at LA.

All current parents are automatically members of our Parents' Association (PA), which has a four-fold mission: to promote a sense of community among parents, students, faculty, and administration; to drive fundraising efforts; to assist with parent-organized events; and to help educate parents about Lawrence Academy.

Current parents should sign in and take advantage of the features on MyBackpack and the information on The Page.

Each spring the Parents’ Association organizes a social event. This event is an opportunity for all parents in the Lawrence Academy community to enjoy a fun and social spring evening. It’s a great way to get to know other Lawrence Academy families and have fun at the same time. We need lots of help with planning. Please be sure to join us for the event on May 2!
Each year, Lawrence Academy raises unrestricted support for the LA Fund, to help close the gap between tuition and the actual cost of an LA education. The annual LA Fund provides support for the faculty and programs of Lawrence Academy. Parent volunteers, in conjunction with the Development Office, solicit fellow parents each fall to meet the Parents’ Fund goal.
In February, parents serve a gourmet luncheon on campus as a way of saying, "Thank you!" to the devoted LA faculty and staff. Parent volunteers are needed to help arrange the menu and recruit wait staff. Enthusiasm abounds as all parents and students gather to discover what exciting adventures await the students during Winterim. Parents may be asked to bring or serve refreshments.
Following the Saturday night performance of some of the school’s theatre productions, the Parents’ Association may host a reception. The desserts, which are provided by parents, add to the festivities. Parents help by bringing or serving the special treats on the night of a reception.
Every December the Parents’ Association hosts a holiday party for the entire Parent community. If you would like to help with the party decorating, donating food or ideas we would love to have you. This year the party will be on December 5.
