Alumni Challenges & Giving
The LA mission, “Lawrence Academy recognizes you for who you are, inspires you to take responsibility for who you want to become, and empowers you to take action for the greater good,” speaks to all students and is embodied on campus each day. More than ever, this mission is front and center as we manage the most important task in front of us – educating young people.
This year has brought new and unique challenges to the school and has dictated crucial changes to how this next generation of LA students will be recognized, challenged, and supported through their LA education. Despite the external challenges all around us, LA’s program remains true to who we are as an institution and what we value: individualized teaching and learning; a warm, compassionate culture; and exceptional faculty and student connections while keeping the health and safety of our community at the forefront. The school has made a variety of strategic investments in technology, infrastructure, and staffing to help deliver on its promise – even during these uncertain times – to prepare students to flourish and contribute to the world.
As it was when you attended Lawrence Academy, we rely on the generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, grandparents, faculty, and staff, and friends to help the school deliver its mission each year and enrich the student experience. This year, the LA Fund dollar goal is $1,700,000 and the alumni participation goal is 20 percent, or LA2X, double last year’s 10 percent participation.
Your philanthropic investment and your thoughtful participation are more critical than ever before as the school navigates the current reality. While no one knows for sure what 2021 will bring, our commitment to LA’s students, faculty, and alumni remains a constant that we all can and should be proud of.
Thank you for your loyalty and for considering including Lawrence Academy among your philanthropic priorities.
