CIT

Counselor in Training Camp (CIT)

Each year, we accept a group of fifteen 14-15 year olds who are aspiring counselors. Their program will include a combination of classroom education on child development and leadership skills, as well as hands on experience with campers! Through the 4 week program, they will gain experience with children ages 5-11.

In the first week, they will mainly focus on bonding with fellow CITs, which includes an off-site ropes course trip.

In addition, they will become CPR certified, build a resume, and have a practice interview with our Camp Director!

Are CITs guaranteed to be hired as a Jr. Counselor when they are old enough to work at camp?

CITs must turn 16 by April 1st of the year they wish to be considered for employment. We have had many of our CITs become successful staff members; however, we do not guarantee that prior CITs will be hired. When CITs wish to be considered for employment, all candidates must go through the camp’s hiring process.


This camp must comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and be licensed by the local board of health.
