Summer Reading and Assignments have been posted on www.lacademy.edu. If you do not see a course or department noted, this means that there is no assignment for that department or course. New students should check email in mid-July for their math and language placement results. Please refer to your course schedule in mid-August to confirm which course(s) you will be taking (if you are unsure at this time).
Be sure to contact the Academic Office at 978-448-1517 or firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
Have a great summer!
Each day, our LA Day Lower Basecamp and Preschoolers receive group swimming lessons, which is included in tuition costs. Our LA Day Middle Base campers have the option to choose swimming lessons as an elective. Swimmers are broken into groups based on skill level. Lessons are provided by our trained team of lifeguards and instructors.
Private and Semi-Private Lessons:
Our swim instructors will also be offering private and swim lessons before and after camp. Private lessons are one-on-one, camper and swim instructor, for a 30-minute lesson that meets Monday – Thursday. (Friday is reserved for make-ups if needed.) Private Lesson Fee: $140/week
As an elective option each day, all children can choose free swim. From ages 7 and up, campers are given the option to take the deep end test, which gives them access to the entire pool. Upon passing, your child will receive a red bracelet that they should not remove during camp.
The Deep End Test
This test was put in place to ensure that all of our campers are strong and safe swimmers before they are allowed to enter the deeper water (7ft).
To pass, children must swim one lap of the pool (down to the deep end and back), and tread 5 minutes in the deep end.
Campers can take the test once each day, with no limit on how many times they attempt the test.
This camp must comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and be licensed by the local board of health.
