April and May always fly by at Lawrence Academy, and the emotion of our seniors getting ready to move on to the next chapters of their lives is the wind beneath all our wings. On a campus tour this week, I talked on video with members of the community.
One of our big events of the warmer season is our last Alumni Council meeting of the year, which is open to all LA alumni. At our meeting this past Wednesday in the new Media Conference Center (MCC), Dan Scheibe shared exciting updates on campus planning, along with his vision for LA’s future. While LA is 222 years old and has many solid traditions and a rich legacy, we are a school that is always evolving and innovating and looking at what will best serve our students in college and in life. This refreshing outlook assures us all that LA is moving ahead in a mission-driven way and that our students are receiving the very best education.
In other news, graduation is in 3 weeks! Our graduation speaker will be Charles M. Sennott, the Executive Editor and Vice President of GlobalPost. Mr. Sennott is an award-winning journalist and author with a distinguished career in international reporting. We hope for good weather on the Quad on May 29 and look forward to welcoming the Class of 2015 into the Alumni Association.
From the Quad,
Assistant Head of School
