Scott Smith
Head CoachScott Smith began working at LA in 2005 and is an art teacher. He received a BA in English with a creative writing concentration and education minor and an MA from Middlebury's Breadloaf School of English. His favorite thing about LA is working with students to help them find ways to express themselves creatively. He lives across the street from campus with his wife, Meghan Smith (English teacher at LA), two kids Violet and Westley, and dog Fezzik (named after the giant in the Princess Bride). He is a board game designer with successfully published games, and has also published comics and children’s stories in a number of magazines.

Lawrence Academy competes in the 16-team Independent School League (ISL), which consists of selective college preparatory schools in and around the greater Boston area from as far north as Byfield, Mass., and as far south as Newport, R.I. All ISL schools are members of NEPSAC, the New England Private School Athletic Council, which governs all interscholastic play for independent schools in the Northeast.
