Kevin Wiercinski
Head CoachKevin Wiercinski joined the Lawrence Academy community in the fall of 1997. Currently, he serves as the Chair of the History Department and the Varsity Head Coach for the basketball and golf programs. He lives on campus with his wife of 20 years and has three children, the oldest of which graduated in the Class of 2021. Mr. Wiercinski started his teaching career at LA in the innovational Ninth Grade Program and transitioned to the role of Athletic Director for five years before returning to teaching fulltime as the leader of the History Department. Over the years he has taught at every level in the department and currently teaches senior electives, Human Geography, and an honors level course, Modern Terrorism, which explores various themes in global terror studies since the 9/11 tragedy. He is a longtime member of the dorm faculty and serves as a leader of the Sports Journalism Winterim, an LA signature program dedicated to non-traditional and experiential programs. Kevin earned a B.A. in American Studies from Franklin and Marshall College in 1994.

Lawrence Academy competes in the 16-team Independent School League (ISL), which consists of selective college preparatory schools in and around the greater Boston area from as far north as Byfield, Mass., and as far south as Newport, R.I. All ISL schools are members of NEPSAC, the New England Private School Athletic Council, which governs all interscholastic play for independent schools in the Northeast.
