Dance

Course options and performance opportunities abound for dancers both new and experienced at Lawrence Academy.

“The World of Dance,” choreography classes, and more are offered as academic courses, while various levels of dance are also offered as sport

Lawrence Academy dancers have been invited to perform at the world-renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival five times since 2003, as part of the international theatre festival’s American High School Theatre Festival program. Under the direction of Director of Dance Brian Feigenbaum, students spend their spring and summer creating and rehearsing the production, culminating with the trip to Scotland for their performance becoming a highlight of the dancers’ time at LA.

"Art is such an outlet for my emotions, and I’ve found a lot of ways to be creative at LA that I never had before. And, all of the creating I do has helped me in my academics because I can think outside of the box more."

Alumni in the Arts

Lawrence Academy students use what they've learning in the arts program and apply those lessons later in life in their careers. Take a look at what our students have gone on to accomplish after life at LA.

Fun Fact: In 2018, our Honors Dance group traveled to Edinburgh, Scotland to perform in the Fringe Festival. An even more fun fact... this was not Lawrence Academy Dance's first time performing at Fringe! Click here for the full photo gallery.
