What is the LA Fund?

The LA Fund supports the school and programs for students and faculty. Gifts to this fund are put to immediate use in the current fiscal year, which begins on July 1 and ends the following year on June 30.

What does my gift to the LA Fund support?

Gifts to the LA Fund support every aspect of a Lawrence Academy education. Accounting for 8 percent of the annual operating budget, it helps bridge the nearly $7,000 gap between tuition revenue, endowment income, and the true cost of running the school.

The LA Fund provides unrestricted and flexible resources to enhance the academic, artistic, and athletic programs on campus, with things like stage lighting, art supplies, athletic equipment, and travel to and from competitions, lab materials, and classroom furnishings. The Fund also allows the school to develop and implement DEIB initiatives, provide financial aid, offer professional development and competitive salaries for our faculty and staff, maintain our beautiful campus, and more.

Why is participation important to the LA Fund?

High participation rates to the LA Fund demonstrate our community’s confidence in and commitment to Lawrence Academy and sends a strong message to prospective parents and other donors. A successful LA Fund reflects a strong community and ensures continued growth and stability for current and future generations of students.

When can I make a gift?

Your support is appreciated anytime throughout the fiscal year (July 1 through June 30). For your information, here is the upcoming annual appeal calendar:

1. Fall Appeal in October
2. LA Parent Fund Phonathon in November
3. End of Calendar Year Appeal in December
4. Days of Giving in March
5. Spring Social in May (proceeds benefit the LA Fund)
6. Spring Appeal and Reunion Giving in June
7. End of Fiscal Year Appeal before June 30

How much should I give?

Every gift is impactful to the school! We ask that your gift amount be one that is meaningful to you and your family. We invite current families, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, and friends to make LA their top philanthropic priority.
