Financial Aid at LA

Lawrence Academy commits to ensuring access to an independent school education by bridging the gap between family resources and educational expenses.

The cost of an independent school education is a considerable investment for families, but we are committed to making a Lawrence Academy education available to students, regardless of their family’s ability to pay. In the spirit of Lawrence Academy’s motto, Omnibus Lucet, we believe access to education through financial aid is of vital, equitable importance.

For the 2023-2024 academic year, 26 percent of our students received need-based financial grants, and we distributed $4.9 million in need-based financial assistance to 108 families in our school community.

When making admissions decisions, Lawrence Academy will offer space only to those students we can financially assist. If we are unable to provide financial assistance to an admissible student, that student will be placed in the wait pool until funds and a space become available.

Applying for Financial Aid

Lawrence Academy is proud to use the Clarity Application to determine a family’s level of financial need based on the information families share in the application which includes assets, income, expenses, and debts.

To get started, please go to the Clarity Application and create an account. The application typically takes fewer than 30 minutes to complete. The Clarity Application is also mobile-friendly so you can complete it from anywhere. You are also able to save your progress and return at any time. At the end of the application, there is a $60 fee to submit, and you can share your application with additional schools that accept the Clarity Application for no additional charge. Simply use the dropdown menu in the application to select those schools.

How does Clarity make it easier for me to apply for financial aid?

Clarity offers a streamlined, mobile friendly application that can be completed in as short a time as 20 minutes. Additionally, Clarity removes the need to upload your 2022 W2 and 1040 by transferring them directly from the IRS. This reduces the amount of information that you will need to enter manually and makes it possible to complete the application quickly and efficiently.

Additional Fees to Consider

Books, class trips, art fees, school and athletic supplies, and other miscellaneous expenses: $150-$400 per term.
Learning Support coaching sessions, transportation, Winterim courses, and music lessons: All are extra and vary.
For International students, there is a $1,500 International student fee.
