McDonald Library

Welcome to the McDonald Library at Lawrence Academy, which serves as an intellectual gateway to our teaching and learning resources both within the school and beyond the classroom. Our library serves the mission of the school, as well as its own mission by offering inviting spaces for study, reflection, and collaboration.

Located in our Ferguson Building in the center of campus, the McDonald Library houses four small study rooms and a classroom space. Additionally, in the summer of 2022 Lawrence Academy made updates to our library by installing new furniture throughout - giving our students an even more comfortable environment to learn and work together.

The Terrace

The McDonald Library Terrace - referred to on campus as The Terrace - is one of Lawrence Academy's most beautiful spaces. With views of Gibbet Hill, The Terrace is used throughout the school year for admissions, alumni and parent events, but most of all it serves as one of LA's most beloved spaces - perfect for doing homework on a fall day or having lunch with your friends in the spring.

Little Free Library

Lawrence Academy’s Little Free Library is now open! If you’re out for a walk or just passing through town, feel free to stop and take a look and maybe take or leave a book. It’s located right in front of our Dr. Green dormitory near the circle at the top of the hill. All members of the LA family and greater community are welcome.

Thank you to the entire Library Squad Club and everyone who worked to make this Little Free Library happen. Kudos to Ms. Mordeno for building it for us!
