What Lawrence Academy’s Mission Means to Me

Lawrence Academy recognizes you for who you are and inspires you to take responsibility for who you what to become.

Our school mission guides everything that we do here at LA, but what does it really mean in our day-to-day lives as students?

For me, the LA mission means that I will be supported no matter what I strive to be. It means that I can feel free to change and be fluid during my time at school but still be pushed to my highest potential by those around me. It means that I don’t have to fit into a box that the schools set for me.

I love LA precisely because it allows me to be my full multi-faceted self. I love that I know that, no matter what I decide to do, I will be loved and supported by the faculty and my fellow students. It is easy for a school to set ideals or even to have faculty practicing them, but when students really buy in, that’s when school becomes a really special place. I truly believe that we have that here at LA.

If you ask anyone on campus what their favorite part about our school is, 9/10 people would say the community. The bond that we have with each other here is like nothing I have ever experienced before. I think that this is in large part due to our mission guiding our culture. When everyone is looking out for the people around them, school becomes home for everyone on campus.

I hope that if you’re a prospective student, you can get on campus soon and see our community for yourself.
