Fall "Spirit Week" is Underway
By Nico Deleo ’25
This past weekend (October 28-30), Lawrence celebrated Halloween with many on-campus activities.
On Friday night, Oct. 28, a Halloween party started in MacNeil Lounge, followed by a campus-wide trick-or-treat. Students followed a route around campus stopping at over 17 faculty houses and then watched a scary movie afterward.
Lots of community members showed up throughout the evening, and the costumes were awesome! Also that night, there was a dance performance in the Black Box Theatre performed by award-winning Marinera dancer - Fanny Vera de Viacava.
On Saturday, Oct. 29, following LA Admissions Open House, girls’ varsity soccer, boys’ and JV girls’ JV soccer, JV volleyball, and JV field hockey played away at Noble and Greenough school. Girls’ and boys’ cross country had a home race against Governor’s, St. Sebastian’s, and St. Georges. Varsity football played their senior game against Tabor academy (and won).
Later that day, many students volunteered at Prescott School Community center to help out with their Halloween Hoopla. Students handed out candy, played games with the kids, and helped them make crafts.
On Monday, Oct. 31, fall "Spirit week" commenced with, of course, costume day.
Many students donned Halloween costumes to show school spirit, and those with the best costumes were given Dunkin gift cards.
“Spoon Hunt” also began on Monday and continues throughout the week. Advisors handed out spoons during assembly.
For those playing: Remember that you can only tag people during the academic day and cannot tag people inside academic buildings or dorms.
Hope everyone has an awesome week! ND
