Using a program called Interactive Physics, students are able to create an experiment on the computer involving the collision of two balls. Students control the mass, elasticity and initial velocity of the balls. Split seconds before the collision the students stop the action and collect the necessary data. After checking the data, using formulas learned in class, the students resume the action and then stop the experiment once again after the collision to collect more data. By the end of the experiment students have drawn conclusions relating momentum, kinetic energy and the elasticity of objects.
