Event Recap:

Lawrence Academy defeated St. Paul’s by a score of 15-9 on a muggy and overcast late afternoon at Baker Field.

Sophomore, Brian Dolan took the hill for LA and earned his first ISL victory of his young career. In his 3 1/3 innings of work, Brian gave up just one earned run.  Senior captain Kevin Wnukowski pitched 2 2/3 innings in relief striking out three and walking one. Sophomore Yuya Maeda closed out the seventh on three ground balls to junior Sean Mullaney at short.

Despite falling behind 5-0 after the top of the first on five unearned runs, the Spartan bats responded with three runs in the bottom of the frame and nine runs in the bottom of the second to take a commanding 12-5 lead that the team would not relinquish.

Offensively, senior captains Brady Burns (2 singles, triple, 4 RBI) and Max Tishman (2 singles, double, RBI) led the way with three hits apiece.   Senior captain Kevin Wnukowski (2 singles, 4 RBI), and junior Sean Mullaney (2 singles) had two hits apiece. Everyone in the line-up finished with a hit.

Defensively, Sean turned in another stellar performance at shortstop.

The win brings LA’s ISL record to 10-4 on the season. The team begins preparations for their final game of the season at BB&N this Wednesday at 3:45PM.
