Support LA Welcome from CM

Welcome Alumni, Parents and Friends

Chrtis Margraf

Words can not do justice to the dramatic changes that have been made to Lawrence Academy's physical plant over the last 10 years as a result of the most recent campaign, Breaking New Ground, which was followed by an anonymous gift that funded a total renovation of the Ferguson Building!

I invite you to visit campus to witness our growth and have a look at our great facilities including our new 44-bed dormitory, Elm Tree Hall, the Ansin Academic Building (opened in 2004), Park House, and the renovations to Brazer House, Bigelow Hall (just this summer), the Shumway Fields, Murbach Field, and The Grant Rink, all of which can be viewed on our interactive campus map. In addition to supporting our physical plant, the campaign raised $10 million for the Lawrence Academy endowment.

As we begin to plan for our next capital campain, our Development Office and the Board of Trustees continue to focus on the Lawrence Academy Annual Fund, the “bread and butter” of our work, as well as special events for our alumni, parents, and friends. The Board of Trustees has set our Annual Fund goal at $1,300,000 for the 2012–2013 year—a goal that we feel is attainable with everyone’s help. The Senior Parent Capital Gift hopes to raise $200,000 from 100% of the senior parents. The new J. William Mees Visiting Scholar Endowment Fund hopes to grow as well.

As for events, this year will host the Gagné Winterim Scholarship Golf Tournament, Board of Visitors, Founders’ Day, Alumni Winter Weekend, The Parents' Association’s Scholarship Fundraiser, and Reunion Weekend, celebrating the classes ending in 3 and 8. With the support of Geoff Harlan, director of annual giving, Hellie Swartwood, director of parent programs, Sandy Sweeney Gallo '75, director of alumni relations, and our wonderful staff, we anticipate another exciting and productive year.

We greatly appreciate all the involvement and support that we receive from our alumni, parents, grandparents, parents of alumni, and friends. All of us in the Alumni and Development Office at Lawrence Academy thank you for your continued support. We'd love to show you around campus whenever you are in the area and can stop by even for a brief visit!

With very best wishes,

Chris Margraf
Interim Director of Development
